Privacy Policy for PoseRef

PoseRef (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is developed and operated by Jacob Seto. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the PoseRef mobile application (the “App”).

1. Information We Access

• Camera: Used to provide the live camera preview and pose overlay functionality.
• Photo Library: Used to allow you to save captured images or select reference images.

This access is required for the core functionality of the App.

2. How Your Information Is Used

• Photos and camera data used for the App's core features are processed entirely on your device and are not collected, stored, or transmitted to any external servers.
• We use PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to collect basic, anonymized usage analytics that help us understand how the App is used and improve it over time. This may include events such as app opens, feature usage (e.g. uploading a reference photo, reaching a usage limit), and purchase completions.
• Analytics data is not linked to your name, email, or photo library contents, and does not include the images or camera feed themselves.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

3. Data Storage

• Photos and media you create in the App are stored locally on your device; no servers or cloud storage are used for this content.
• Anonymized usage analytics described above are stored on PostHog's servers in accordance with their own privacy policy, available at posthog.com/privacy.

4. Peer-to-Peer Connectivity

PoseRef may use Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity framework to enable local device-to-device connections.

• Connections are direct and local
• No data is routed through external servers
• Data remains on connected devices

5. Third-Party Services

• We use PostHog for basic product analytics, as described in Section 2.
• No advertising services are used.
• No other third-party data collection occurs.

6. User Accounts

• No account creation required
• No personal information such as your name or email is collected

7. Children’s Privacy

• No personal data is collected from users of any age.
• The anonymized analytics described in Section 2 do not identify individual users and pose minimal privacy risk.

8. Data Security

• Photos and media remain on your device and are never transmitted to us.
• Analytics data sent to PostHog is transmitted securely and does not include your photos, camera feed, or personal identifiers.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy by updating the Effective Date above.
